Enjoy miles of hiking trails and peaceful surroundings at this state park.
Many visitors come here to enjoy fishing and boating at Bigelow Pond. There are several marked trails, but none of them create a perfect loop. Come prepared with sturdy hiking boots and binoculars to watch the birds and other wildlife that live here. This is a great place to visit to get away from the crowded city. If you are willing to rough it, there is a primitive camping area within the state park. Motorized vehicles aren't allowed there; you have to backpack with all of your gear to the campsite.
Bigelow State Park is located in northeastern Connecticut off State Route 171. It is open daily from 8 am to sunset and allows visitors to bring leashed pets. Other recreational places to visit nearby include Nipmuck State Forest, Quaddick State Park, and Shenipsit State Forest. Visit this secluded region of Connecticut with your friends and family today.
