Enjoy a hot summer day at Lake Champlain.
Alburgh Dunes State Park is located in northwestern Vermont close to the Canada border. It features one of Lake Champlain's longest beaches. There is a wetland behind the beach which has a large spruce bog where various migrating birds often come and nest, making it an ideal spot for viewing birds and other wildlife. The swimming area and picnic tables are located on the south end of the park. Boaters are welcome to come, but must bring their own boat since rentals are not available.
Feel free to explore the beach road while you're here. This 1.25-mile paved pathway is great for both pedestrians and bikers who want to see the whole beach. The day-use area within the state park is open from 10 am to sunset from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend. This is not a pet-friendly place, so please leave them at home. Explore Vermont's exquisite Alburgh Dunes State Park and have fun at Lake Champlain with your friends and family.
