This art museum is an important contribution to this coastal town and aims to educate each guest about the significance and immense value that art provides us.
The Academy Art Museum has been tied to the community of Easton, Maryland since the early 1800s. Multiple gallery buildings that make up this wonderful museum were used as schoolhouses throughout the 19th century. The museum has expanded and been renovated since it was originally established in the 1960s. The foundation of the Academy Art Museum has always been to be a place of education, practice, and appreciation for its guests. In addition to the many phenomenal permanent and rotating exhibits on display here, the Academy Art Museum also occasionally hosts concerts, speaking events, art classes, and educational programs.
Some of the permanent exhibits here at the Academy Art Museum include over 1500 pieces of work that span more than 200 years. The permanent collections are comprised of renowned artists such as Pablo Picasso, Francisco Goya, Marc Chagall, Judy Chicago, and Ansel Adams. There is so much to take in and appreciate here at the Academy Art Museum, so be sure to leave plenty of time in your day for exploring the remarkable galleries here.
