This park is an ideal place to come have an afternoon picnic with a perfect view of the Choptank River.
Long Wharf Park is located in a quaint and historic area known as Cambridge, Maryland. This public park is situated along the Choptank River, and visitors can come here to fish, walk along the paved pathways, take in the view of any of the massive naval ships that may be docked here, and observe the WWII Memorial Fountain. Guests can also take a leisurely walk down the pier to the Choptank River Lighthouse and see the Chesapeake Lighthouse replica that’s nearby.
Long Wharf Park isn’t massive, but it is a lovely area to come and spend some time on a nice day nonetheless. There’s a large grassy area where little ones can run around, or you can set up a relaxing picnic under the big, shady trees. You can devote a lovely afternoon to gazing upon the calm river and the impressive sailboats that drift along in the distance. There also are plenty of local shops and restaurants near the park that you can easily venture to once you’re ready to head out from your peaceful time at Long Wharf Park.
