A non-profit organization that helps rehabilitate, protect, release, and educate about the local coastal wildlife.
The need for a sealife resource center sparked the beginning of the Texas Sealife Center in Texas. Started and supported by volunteers has made this dream a reality. This non-profit organization strives to rescue, rehabilitate and release, when at all possible. The center is located on South Park Drive in Corpus Christi, Texas. Each year animals are admitted to the center. The center is now a part of Packery Channel Nature Park. Renovations took place and a center was created that provides a wildlife hospital, educational center, and animal-watching walking trails that are educational. Everyone will enjoy the local and unique wildlife, such as a variety of birds, turtles, and more. Visitors are always welcomed. Visitors can enjoy a nature walk on designated trails along with participating in a tour of the center. Each guest can take part in the protection, care, and education efforts of the Sealife Center. Visitation tours are available on Wednesday to Saturday 10 am to 3:30 pm. Tours start every half hour to every hour. Guest participants can meet the education and caregiving ambassador team along with meeting and learning the stories of each sea turtle that is currently a patient at the animal hospital. Guests are welcome to ask questions and learn about the local wildlife. A gift shop browsing will conclude the tour. Gifts, books, and other souvenirs are available. Reservations are encouraged and can be booked by calling the Sealife Center. The Texas Sealife Center is always continuing to grow and expand. Wildlife expansion includes areas for native plants, birds, sea life, and more.
