The Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center features a well-manicured desert landscape providing rescued animals a healthy and clean habitat. Over 70% of the animals here are rescued and rehabilitated to the point where they can return to the wild. The animals they cannot release are cared for at the sanctuary.

The center has been helping animals in need for over 20 years, and they offer guided tours by appointment only. Reservations are required and can be made online. The doors of the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center are open to any wildlife, but they specialize in wild mammals. Visitors that make an appointment for a tour enjoy a more intimate experience than a typical zoo. The animal enclosures are much closer to view, and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Most of the tours are held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

There are over 300 animals that live at the center, with examples of most species, including raptors, gray wolves, black bears, tortoises, and big cats. The center has an animal hospital on-site. Besides the entrance fee, the center encourages donations.
