The i.d.e.a. museum in Mesa, Arizona, stands for "imagination, design, experience, art." The museum has many hands-on activities that nurture creative thinking in the fine arts. They encourage self-expression for all visitors, and families can work together and spend quality time together during their time. When visiting this museum, reservations can be purchased online anytime or at the door from 9 am - 4 pm Tuesday through Saturday and 12 pm - 4 pm on Sundays.
This attraction is set in a "1950s refurbished grocery store" with over 20,000 feet of space for public exhibitions. They have the Whiteman Family Exhibit Gallery, ArtVille, the HUB gallery, the Snackery, and 3 classrooms. The exhibit gallery has new exhibitions many times throughout the year with artworks from a chosen topic or theme. The HUB gallery uses the space for engaging art activities that all ages can participate in. You can use recyclable materials and draw on a dry erase wall and create art in multiple ways in this part of the museum.
The Snackery has a lounging area with vending machines and tables where visitors can have a snack. You are also welcome to bring your own food and have a place to gather. The museum has an exploratory playground with huge soft building blocks, a light board that looks similar to a giant "Light Bright", books, grocery shopping, and a dress-up area.
