Ross Park Zoo is located at the southern end of Binghamton, New York. It features over 70 animals, including lemurs, giant rabbits, goats, penguins, owls, tortoises, snow leopards, otters, coyotes, red pandas, and more. Children will love the children's zoo section near the gift shop. There, they can pet the goats and have a fun interaction with some of the animals. For an additional fee, you can also experience a wild encounter with two-toed sloths, porcupines, penguins, snow leopards, or red pandas. Each wild experience package allows up to two participants ages 15 and up and includes photos of the encounter.
Hours of operation vary depending on the season. During the winter, this zoo is only open on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are very affordable at less than $10 per person, and children ages 0 - 2 are free. If you're traveling through northwestern New York, don't pass up a chance to experience the Ross Park Zoo.
