Discover ancient petroglyphs at this unique park in Hawaii.
The Puakō Petroglyph Park is located on the northwestern coast of Hawaii's big island near the Mauna Lai Resort. This is a preserve full of hundreds of ancient petroglyphs are known as kii pohaku to the Native Hawaiians. A lot of these petroglyphs date back to 1200 AD, but there are no known meanings to these rock carvings. Visitors are welcome to explore this historic site and see these petroglyphs for themselves. Kids and adults can have a fun time deciphering the symbols they find throughout the park.
