These pools make for a tranquil and refreshing destination on warm days.
The Seven Sacred Pools are one of the most iconic and absolutely beautiful places you can visit while in Maui. Also known as ‘Ohe’o Gulch, this region was formed over the course of many years via a river in the rainforest. The pools are alluring and make for the perfect place to cool off on those hot Hawaiian days. The Seven Sacred Pools are part of Haleakala National Park and conveniently located along the infamous Hana Highway, so this is an ideal pitstop to make if you’re making the road trip.
There are actually a lot more than seven pools throughout the park (around 20 that you can swim in), and there are a number of hiking trails and waterfalls to see while exploring the area, and you can reserve a campsite if you’d like to stay for a couple of days, as well. You’ll truly be transported to a place that feels so surreal with all of the untamed splendor that welcomes you at ‘Ohe’o Gulch. Since it’s part of the national park, it is $30 to gain entrance, and they are open from 9:30-4:30.
