Oregon’s own prehistoric walk-through exhibit featuring life-size dinosaur sculptures.
On the coast of Southern Oregon, you can take a self-guided tour through a life-size representation of the prehistoric era. The park came to be through EV “Ernie” Nelson, a sculptor with a strong interest in dinosaurs. He aided in the creation of 23 dinosaur models by researching and visiting the Smithsonian museum to ensure accurate construction. He also created visual representations of creatures native to the era. Follow the park map along the gravel walkway, over bridges, and beside a creek to see all the sculptures.
Admission ranges from $8 to $12, and children 2 and under are free to enter. This park has been open since 1955 and operates within a 300-year old forest. It is reminiscent of the Jurassic Park movie and is a fun stop for children and adults of all ages. The attraction is wheelchair accessible but is not dog-friendly and is an easy stop along Highway 101, located just below Mussel Creek in Port Orford.
