Beautiful place to explore the southern coast of Oregon
Located on Oregon’s beautiful and rugged south coast, Harris Beach has a lot to offer hikers, bikers, nature lovers or anyone who simply wants to soak in the scenery. The park offers several trails and miles of sandy beaches with rocky outcroppings to explore. From the day-use area, enjoy picnicing on the beach with a stunning view of the sea stacks dotting the ocean, including the largest island off the Oregon coast.
Bird Island, also known as Goat Island, is a National Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a breeding site for such rare birds as the tufted puffin. The island offers fantastic wildlife viewing from the park's many viewpoints. Watch gray whales on their winter and spring migrations, harbor seals, California sea lions, sea birds and the rich marine gardens.
Camping spots can be reserved up to 30 days in advance. Full hook-ups, tents and even a few yurts are available.
If you are up for exploring, the Samuel H Boardman State Scenic Corridor is a 12 mile park along scenic highway 101. There are lots of beaches and hikes to keep you busy during your visit.
