Take a guided tour of these amazing caves in Southwestern Oregon.
This National Monument is located right above the California Oregon border and is a must-see if you’re in the area. These marble halls have steep passageways and winding paths and can only be accessed via guided tour, which can be reserved online ahead of time. It can be a strenuous tour for some people, be aware that there are over 500 stairsteps inside the caves, and at some points, the ceilings are as low as 45 inches during the tour. Due to the nature of the caves, there is no wheelchair access. However, a small area does accommodate wheelchairs, so visitors can take a peek inside the caves if they ask a ranger.
Backpacks and bags are not allowed inside the caves. Flashlights aren’t necessary since the paths will be well lit. The park has lockers that you can rent if you need to store your personal items. All guests should wear a jacket since the temperature inside the caves is usually around 44 degrees Fahrenheit. Infant carriers and strollers are not permitted, so if you have children coming with you, they need to be at least 42 inches tall to enter the cave. For guests who cannot go into the cave, there are plenty of hiking trails nearby, plus an interactive cave exhibit.
