Watch the waterfowl and other wildlife at these pristine wetlands.
The Overflow National Wildlife Refuge is located in southeastern Arkansas off of State Highway 8. Migrating waterfowl often seen here include mallard ducks, Northern shoveler, short-billed dowitchers, sandpipers, and wood ducks. Visitors are welcome to come here Monday through Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm. This wildlife refuge has been established since 1980 and allows hunters to come during the regular hunting season.
This is a great place to soak in the sights and sounds of nature. If you enjoy taking time to reconnect with your natural surroundings, come to the Overflow National Wildlife Refuge. All visitors should wear sunscreen, bug spray, and proper clothes and footwear when they come. Expect to spend at least an hour or more while you're here. For anyone taking a tour of the southern United States, Arkansas is a lovely state to visit. A stop at the Overflow National Wildlife Refuge will not disappoint.
