Brucemore is a historic estate in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It is located off of Interstate 380. Construction on the Brucemore estate began in 1884 and the mansion features Queen Anne architecture. As you explore the grounds, you will notice a large front lawn, a formal garden in the back, an amphitheater, a pond, and a servants' village. This estate sits on 26 acres and offers opportunities to go geocaching outside.
Admission is free for all ages. Visitor center hours are Thursday through Sunday from 11:30 am to 4 pm and the gardens are open on weekdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Be sure to look at their online calendar for dates and times when you can tour the mansion, these tours require tickets. Both Herbert Hoover and Harry Truman visited Brucemore back in the 1960s. This historic site is a family-friendly place that welcomes all guests.
