This distillery has been around for 150 years and has two great tour options for visitors.
The Old Forester Distilling Co, located in Louisville, Kentucky, is one of the best whiskey distilleries to visit to learn all about the fermentation, barrel-making, and distilling process. Old Forester offers a couple of tour options so that guests can pick one that best suits what they’re looking for. Each tour brings you through the 150-year history that’s tied to this distillery and provides tastings of their different whiskey varieties.
Be sure to book your tour plenty of time in advance (they take reservations up to 3 months out and allow 16 patrons at a time for the Old Forester Tour). Guests of all ages are allowed on the tours to learn about the fascinating history of this distillery. There is also a great gift shop here with merchandise and whiskey options so you can take a piece of Kentucky home with you. Old Forester Distilling Co is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am until 5 pm and closed on Sunday and Monday. You definitely won’t want to miss out on this stop during your journey on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
