Michter’s Fort Nelson Distillery is located in the heart of Louisville, Kentucky. This is one of the primary stops at the start of the infamous Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Whether you even like whiskey or not, this is a captivating establishment with a remarkable history tied to it. You can take a guided tour that does offer tastings and learn all about the past of Michter’s, which has connections back to the 1700s. This specific facility was opened in the mid-1800s.

Michter’s prides itself on providing some of the highest-quality whiskey. The distillery follows an intentional 5-step process when crafting their whiskeys to ensure consistency and great taste. They have different varieties to choose from, depending on your individual preferences. The distillery does recommend making online reservations prior to your visit since it does get busy!  Michter’s Fort Nelson Distillery is closed on Monday and Tuesday, opens at 10 am Wednesday through Saturday, and at 12:30 on Sunday.
