Cloudland Canyon State Park is located in northwestern Georgia near Lookout Mountain. This scenic park features canyons, cliffs, caves, waterfalls, creeks, and ample wildlife. Avid hikers and mountain bikers can easily spend days exploring all the trails here. Other outdoor recreational activities you can do at Cloudland Canyon include disc golfing, geocaching, horseback riding, fishing, picnicking, and camping. If you want to take a camping trip here, it is best to make reservations in advance. They offer 16 cottages, 10 yurts, 13 backcountry campsites, 30 walk-in campsites, and 72 campsites that can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents.
Please note that this is black bear country, so take all the necessary precautions to avoid attracting bears to your campsite. Park hours are 7 am to 10 pm in the day-use areas. The interpretive center is open on the weekends from 10 am to 5 pm and on weekdays during the peak tourist season. Outdoor enthusiasts of all ages can expect to have a blast while visiting Cloudland Canyon State Park.
