Nancy Lake State Recreation Area, located in Willow, Alaska, is a gorgeous and peaceful 22,685-acre recreational area that provides guests with a wonderful variety of outdoor activities to enjoy. This park is quite unique due to the fact that it’s one of the only parks in Alaska with flat landscapes scattered with crystalline lakes. Visitors can enjoy fishing, canoeing, camping, and hiking in the milder months and dog sledding, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing in the wintertime. There are over beautiful 100 lakes that are dispersed throughout the park and large wetlands to explore. You’ll likely also see plenty of wildlife during your time at the park.
There are numerous campsites at Nancy Lake and there are even some cabins available here to reserve. There are picnic areas throughout the grounds that serve as the most ideal and peaceful settings to enjoy lunch after time spent adventuring. It’s important to note that if you are staying here at the park, bring enough drinking water to last your stay. Nancy Lake is a place you come to fully unwind and bask in the serenity that only the great outdoors can provide.
