The Eagle River Nature Center is an absolutely wonderful place where visitors can come immerse themselves in one of the most phenomenal natural environments in the country. Located in Anchorage, Alaska, this nature center aims to provide education about the important ecosystem here as well as opportunities to have loads of fun through outdoor activities. The nature center is a non-profit organization and run by a group of individuals that have made it their mission to protect and respect this precious land. The surroundings here are nothing short of remarkable and you can experience them for yourself via the 4 different hiking trails on the grounds, which range from beginner to more advanced. Expect to see incredible mountains, fascinating wildlife, and stunning foliage as you trek along any of the trails here.
The Eagle River Nature Center holds a variety of public events throughout the year such as music hikes and children’s storytimes, and of course, field trips here are popular and a favorite among students. The center is open from 10-5 from Friday to Sunday between the months of October and April and 10-5 from Wednesday to Sunday between May and September. Access is just $5 per vehicle, and the trails here are accessible 24/7 to visitors.
