Enjoy the stunning views of Lake Serene and Bridal Veil Falls.
Lake Serene is located in Washington State near the small town of Gold Bar. The trailhead is named Central Cascade and is off Highway 2 (look for trail #1068). You will need a Northwest Forest Pass to park. This trail is very popular. Consider visiting on weekdays to avoid crowds. Park vehicles in designated areas only; the parking lot is often very full. While hiking, guests are strongly encouraged to stay on the trail to preserve the surrounding areas. Remember to yield to fellow hikers.
Hiking the trail to Lake Serene and Bridal Veil Falls is considered to be very difficult but worth the effort. Salmon Berry bushes and trees surround it. Berries can be picked along the way; they are usually ripe in mid-June. The trail soon enters into a deep, dense forest with the right trailhead leading to Bridal Veil Falls. It is steep, but the stairs on the path help. The trail splits, creating a walking loop. Be cautious while taking the left trail; it ascends 1.5-miles up to the top. Expect to get wet on this hike. Come prepared with good shoes, food, and drinking water. If you're an avid hiker, this trail is well worth it for the view.
