This beautiful, peaceful garden is nestled in an area where one would not expect to find such a piece of paradise. Kubota Garden encompasses 20 acres and features Japanese-style concepts, and showcases plants that thrive in the northwestern US. There are several ponds, waterfalls, and a couple of bridges throughout the garden. Flora and fauna include 140 maple tree varieties such as Japanese maples, cedar trees, large rhododendrons, azaleas, cleome flowers, 30 varieties of hydrangeas, and various plants along the pathways.
Admission is free for all ages, and the garden is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Please note that the parking lot opens at 7:30 am and closes at 8 pm. If you don't have a car, public transit such as the transit shuttle or the #106 bus stop near the gardens. Anyone visiting Seattle should come and take a self-guided tour of this lovely spot.
