This is a place where you can appreciate arts and crafts and realize that the world would be different and a bit dull without them.
You can indeed see ideas become a reality while viewing the displays and exhibits at the KMAC Museum. The museum has 3 floors to experience, and the contents of the museum change every few months, so it will probably look different each time you visit. All can appreciate what the represented artists have created. The museum features exhibits from Kentucky artists, but it also welcomes works from all over the world. Former Kentucky first lady Phyllis George founded it in 1981.
The KMAC museum was renovated in 2016 to include an area that showcases regional, national, and international contemporary artists. Children will love the kids' area with some interactive play and learning opportunities with a hands-on craft table to create a paper chair and other fun crafts. Stop by the gift shop to get some unique handmade items, toys, and art supplies. It is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm and is closed on all major holidays. Admission is $6 for adults and free for children.
