See one of California's most visited historical monuments.
Hearst Castle is a National Historic Landmark and one of California's most visited historical monuments. This place is located on the Central Coast of California. Imagined by William Randolph Hearst and his architect Julia Morgan, the castle was built between 1919 and 1947. Hearst Castle is a stunning example of the Gilded Age, and it contains 165 rooms. Hearst Castle also has stunning outdoor gardens, fountains, towering palms, and views of the Pacific Ocean. It's easy to spend a day exploring the castle. Guests can book various guided tours of the estate online.
Along with the architectural beauty, visitors will see the outdoor Neptune Pool, which is 104 feet long and beautifully framed by marble statues of Neptune and Nereid. The indoor Roman Pool is reminiscent of a Roman bath and features intricate details in cobalt blue and gold glass tiles. Hearst Castle is about halfway between LA and San Francisco and is a neat place to go sightseeing.
