Tour this incredible castle in Colorado Springs.
The Glen Eyrie Castle is located in Colorado Springs. This historic estate was established in 1871 by General William Jackson Palmer, the founder of Colorado Springs, Colorado. General Palmer began renovations on the castle in the early 1900s to add more space to the home. They also utilized native stone within their property for the castle's exterior. Sadly, Palmer became paralyzed from a horse-riding accident and could only enjoy the home for a few short years before he died.
Tours of the castle are 90 minutes long, and admission is $12 per person. Visitors will see a short video and take a guided tour through the carriage house and the first two floors of the castle. Please note that they require tours to be booked in advance, and they require a credit card to guarantee your spot. Public tour times are Monday through Saturday at 12 pm and 2 pm, and Sundays at 2 pm.
