Come see the largest scrap sculpture in the world.
Visitors will see a massive accumulation of art comprised of various scrap pieces from old factories, power plants, and forgotten relics. Standing at 50 feet tall, 120 feet wide, and 300 tons, the Forevertron is the single largest scrap sculpture in the world. Created in the 1980s by Tom Every, the Foreverton is a mass of scrap accumulated throughout his career as a scrapper and entrepreneur. As a scrapper, he would go to old power plants and facilities that were of no use and take them apart. Realizing that the tanks, factories, and sights he was scrapping would be melted down, he took it upon himself to save as much of the neat and iconic features as possible, ending with the creation of Forevertron. The Forevertron features lightning rods, high voltage mechanisms from 19020s power plants, two Thomas Edison dynamos, and even the decontamination chamber from Apollo 11.
Forevertron also has a tea house, gigantic telescope, and is part of a park that has other pieces of art such as The Dragon, The UFO, Bird Band, and Orchestra. With wonder and curiosity around every corner, Dr. Evermor's Sculpture Park is a must-see for anybody traveling through the Sauk County area. It is open daily except on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please note that commercial photo shoots are prohibited unless you obtain written permission. The exact location of this park is right behind Delaney's Surplus in Sumpter.
