Discover the beauty of Wisconsin's largest state park.
Devil's Lake State Park was established in 1911 and features a 360-acre lake with sandy beaches, campsites, and concessions. The park has nearly 30 miles of hiking trails, picnic areas near the lake, swimming beaches, and year-round naturalist programs. Devil's Lake State Park is the largest state park in Wisconsin and offers lovely views from its 500 foot Quartzite bluffs. The park is open year-round and has some intriguing natural history along the 1,000-mile Ice Age Trail. Pets are allowed at Devil's Lake State Park but must be leashed at all times. Pets are not permitted at the main swimming beaches, but they have a dog-friendly beach on the south shore. You can also take your pet to the doggy swim areas at the two main boat landings.
Visitors often come here for hiking, fishing, kayaking, and camping. There is a shop nearby where they sell ice cream, food, stickers, and other accessories. Feel free to bring your own non-motorized boats to enjoy the lake. They also have a place where you can rent kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats. This state park features modern amenities such as hot showers, flushing toilets, and a dump station. Devil's Lake State Park is about 35 miles northwest of Madison, Wisconsin, and is a popular place for locals and tourists.
