Enjoy stunning views of Mount Timpanogos at this state park.
Deer Creek State Park is less than 30 minutes away from Provo, Utah, and is an excellent camping destination. Popular recreational activities here include fishing, kayaking, boating, and hiking. Anglers can expect to find largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and rainbow trout in Deer Creek Reservoir. Portions of the lake tend to get a lot of wind, so wind surfing, kite boarding, and sailing are other fun activities to try when the weather is cooperating. Please note that lifejackets are strongly recommended for all ages due to the cold water conditions.
Summer and early fall months are the optimal time of year to visit. Hikers are welcome to explore the Deer Creek Trail, an 8-mile long trail following along the western shore of the reservoir. If you have time, stop for a bite to eat at the Lakehouse Restaurant before you go. This place is located on Deer Creek Island and is open for weekend brunch and dinner. Brunch menu items include French toast, steak & eggs, and various soups and salads made from local ingredients. Deer Creek State Park is a premier place to experience the great outdoors in Utah.
