This Is The Place Heritage Park gets its name from when Brigham Young led a pioneer wagon company 1300 miles West to find a new place to settle. When the company arrived in the Salt Lake Valley, Brigham Young was sick, but he managed to sit up in his wagon and proclaimed, “This is the right place.” Among the monuments at This Is The Place Heritage Park stands a monument in the exact location where historians believe Brigham made this statement, a statement that decided history.
