Experience this old theater in downtown Astoria.
Located 5 miles from Washington State at the bottom of a San Francisco-type hill, you will find a local movie theater in Astoria, Oregon. Many tourists miss it, but it is a favorite for the locals. Astoria High School holds a celebration for the seniors each year here with a popular movie screening.
Inside the doors is a quaint lobby with a concession stand. The theater has an upstairs area with a bar for adults, and the floor is filled with regular theater seats. If moviegoers arrive early enough (and order food), they can pick out a couch on the ground floor at the back of the auditorium.
There are only a few showings offered each night since there is only one cinema. The concession menu includes classic candies, soda, popcorn, and pizza. The theater plays a mixture of family-friendly films and other popular hits. If you get the chance to come to this small town theater, it will be worth your time.
