This premier Alabama state park is located off Alabama State Highway 281. Cheaha State Park is home to the highest mountain in Alabama, Cheaha Mountain, which is nearly 2,500 feet high and is situated in the Talladega National Forest. Anyone visiting for a simple daytime outing is welcome to bring food and use the grills and picnic tables throughout Cheaha State Park.
Park amenities include a cliffside pool, Cheaha lake, a dog park, and more. Admission rates are $2 for children (4-12) and seniors (62+) and $5 for everyone over 12. If you're interested in camping here, you can choose from various primitive campsites, rock cabins, and a 12-bedroom group lodge. Cheaha State Park is open daily from 7 AM to 9 PM, and all of the day use areas and hiking trails close at sunset. Look no further for a camping destination in Alabama.
