Watch the birds at this state park in southeastern Texas.
Brazos Bend State Park is less than an hour southwest of Houston, Texas. It is an excellent place to go bird watching, biking, geocaching, picnicking, or stargazing. There are 37 miles of trails within the park, and many of them are wheelchair-friendly. Please note that alligators are common to the area, so remain on the trails and keep an eye out for these aggressive creatures as you enjoy spending time in nature.
You are welcome to book an extended stay at one of their campsites or cabins to get the most out of your visit. One of the unique things about Brazos Bend is that they have an observatory on site. The George Observatory is open from 5 pm to 10 pm on Saturdays for stargazing, but you can also make a reservation Tuesday through Friday if you're not here on a Saturday. Check out Brazos Bend State Park in southeastern Texas if you love the great outdoors.
