Moody Gardens overlooks the Bayou in northeastern Galveston Island. Its most notable features are the Rainforest, Aquarium, and Discovery Pyramid buildings. Inside the Rainforest Pyramid, you will discover over 1,700 exotic plants and animals from Asian, South American, and African rainforests. The Aquarium Pyramid is one of the largest aquariums in the nation. It features aquatic creatures from the Caribbean, South Atlantic, and North Pacific oceans that swim around in the 1.5 million gallon tank. Science lovers will enjoy the Discovery Pyramid. This area features various exhibits inspired by NASA and other rotating science exhibits year-round.
This family-friendly attraction is one of the top places in Galveston, Texas. Along with the pyramids, guests can enjoy swimming, golfing, ropes courses, and ziplining during their visit. The Moody Gardens also hosts an annual Holiday in the Gardens event that features a mile-long Festival of Lights trail, holiday shows, pictures with Santa, and lots of holiday fun for all ages. Holiday attractions are open daily from 4 pm to 10 pm, and the regular yearly attractions are open daily from 10 am to 5 pm.
