Discover one of the most comprehensive railroad collections in America.
The B&O Railroad Museum is located in downtown Baltimore, Maryland. This is the birthplace of America's railroad system. Visitors are welcome to come for guided tours and scenic train rides along the first mile of the commercial railroad track established in the USA. The Mile One Express train is about 20 minutes long and is open year-round. This train ride costs less than $5 per person and it leaves at 11:30 am on various days depending on the season. The museum also offers a dozen different guided tours that go over the history of the railroad during the Civil War era and provides people with opportunities to see several historic locomotives up close.
The B&O Railroad Museum is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm. General admission rates are $20 per adult, $17 for seniors, and $12 for children ages 2 to 12. If you need a bite to eat, they also have an on-site cafe open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. Exhibits you will see include a model train collection, the world's first telegraph, a historic turntable, a refrigerated freight car, a train garden, railroad signals, and more. If you love trains, stop by B&O Railroad Museum the next time you're in Maryland.
