The Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial is located at the base of Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. This is the newest memorial established in the National Mall. It features bronze sculptures in front of the building, depicting pivotal eras of his life. Pay attention to the side of the building. It has a unique steel tapestry outlining the Normandy coastline, pointing to the events of D-day during WWll. President Eisenhower served from 1953 to 1961, and he was the third of seven boys. He grew up on a dairy farm in Kansas and eventually went on to join the military.
