The Bell Museum is located on Main Street in historic Belton, Texas. The history of the Bell County Museum can be traced back to 1899, when the Women's Wednesday Club asked for a library grant and was given $10,000 for the Belton Carnegie Library. The building was completed in 1905 and served the citizens until 1975, when another library opened nearby. The building was given to the Historical Commission. It was renovated and reopened to the public as a museum.
Visitors can discover the fascinating history of Bell County and enjoy the many rotating exhibitions. Regular hours are Tuesday through Friday from 12 PM to 5 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM. Admission is free for all guests. The Bell Museum has a gift shop with items such as Bell County books and authors, museum t-shirts, vintage games and toys, geodes, rock jewelry, Texas-themed memorabilia, postcards, magnets, and many other items.
