The Basilica of Saint Lawrence is located off I-240 in Asheville, North Carolina. Spanish architect Raphael Guastavino designed this grand basilica during the 1890s. He also came to work on the Biltmore Estate during that time. You will notice that this basilica features "old-world" designs and immaculate detailing throughout the building. It features layers of tile and mortar on every horizontal surface.
They allow self-guided tours during visiting hours, which are Monday between 11 AM and 12 PM, Tuesday through Thursday from 11 AM to 1 PM, and between 3 PM and 5 PM.
