Explore nature just outside of New York City.
The Bailey Arboretum is located in southeastern New York, overlooking Long Island Sound. It encompasses over 40 acres on the former Bailey estate, which was home to Frank and Marie Bailey in the 1900s. Frank became a self-taught horticulturist and cultivated this amazing private garden and arboretum. Bailey Arboretum features seven acres of landscaped gardens, ponds, woodland pathways, and peaceful surroundings. This is the perfect place for a picnic or a nice nature walk through the trees to help you find tranquility away from the crowded city.
This natural attraction is open year-round, but spring and fall are the best seasons to visit. Bailey Arboretum is home to the world's largest dawn redwood tree. If you're in New York City, this arboretum is only 30 minutes away on the north shore of Long Island. Anyone who enjoys being outdoors will have a great time at this place.
