Wakulla Springs State Park

Visit this southern state park featuring the world's largest and deepest freshwater spring.

Wakulla Springs State Park is located just south of Tallahassee, Florida. This is home to the world's deepest and largest freshwater spring. Old-growth cypress trees surround this natural feature, which is recognized as a national natural landmark. It is a good idea to stop by the visitor center if you're interested in learning about the history of the park and its native wildlife. Be sure to explore the Nature Trail, Cherokee Sink Trail, and Bob Rose Trail while you're at the park too.

This state park is open daily from 8 am to sunset. If you want to stay awhile, they have a lodge and a full-service restaurant on site. The lodge was built in 1937 and features Meditteranean Revival architecture. There are 27 rooms available and each has a marble bathroom, walk-in closet, and elegant furnishings. Wakulla Springs State Park is an ideal place for family picnics, scenic hikes, and a variety of outdoor recreational activities.
