See the exquisite historic houses and gardens at the Atlanta History Center.
The Atlanta History Center is located in Atlanta, Georgia. It has 33 acres full of historic homes, gardens, and exhibits. Historic buildings you will see include the Smith farmhouse and Swan house. There are also seven different gardens to walk through, making it a relaxing place to enjoy the beauty of the earth. Be sure to walk along the Swan Woods trail and keep an eye out for wildlife.
After exploring the main museum, you are welcome to tour the rest of the center at your own pace. The quarry garden is situated behind the museum and is a unique artifact in the Atlanta History Center. It features native plants, many of which are rare or endangered. The Atlanta History Center is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm, and the historic houses open at 11 am. Onsite parking is free for all guests.
