This park is 35 acres in size with numerous sites that have all played key roles in MLK’s life. He was born in Atlanta and has had one of the most profound influences on civil rights in America, but his impact is still very much felt around the world today.
At the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park, you can explore sites like his childhood home, Ebenezer Baptist Church, which is where Dr. King spent much of his life, as well as the grave of him and his wife, Coretta Scott King. These sites pull huge crowds of visitors each January on MLK Day as a way to honor him and his legacy. There is also a museum and visitor center within the park that are packed with educational exhibits and important historical accounts. This national historical park is an incredibly significant place that has done a wonderful job of honoring and preserving the life of MLK and the ever-important message he stood for.
