Explore a diverse natural landscape full of wildlife creatures.
Located on the outer banks of Albermarle Sound, this nature conservancy features sand dunes, marshes, and wetlands. There are several miles of hiking trails and a visitor center when you visit here. Experience respite from the busy city life and listen to the serene sounds of nature. There is quite a diversity of plant and animal life here, including oak and hickory trees, reptiles, amphibians, and over 100 bird species. Several of these plants and animals are not typically found in this coastal region of the United States, making it a beautiful area to visit.
This area is managed by a non-profit organization called Nature Conservancy. They are dedicated to preserving natural habitats around the world. We hope you enjoy the beauty of Nags Head Woods and gain a deeper appreciation for the outdoors during your visit.
