Enjoy a family-friendly hike to a quiet lake near Mt. Hood.
Lost Lake offers a very scenic and reflective view of Mt. Hood. It is arguably the most photographed lake in the state of Oregon. The trail is only 3.2 miles round trip, making it an easy choice for families with young kids. On this path, hikers will pass Lake Branch, Inlet Creek, a private cabin, and many views of various trees and vegetation.
The Pacific Crest Trail offers camping spots and is a 2.5-mile branch off from the Lost Lake trail. Most visitors come to visit in the summer, but photographers are often seen year-round trying to capture a sunrise or sunset scene at the lake. You can also stay at the lost lake and enjoy tent camping or fishing. There are places to rent canoes, kayaks, or paddleboards as well so you can spend a fun time out on the water.
