Discover this waterfall near Mount Hood.
Ramona Falls is located west of Mount Hood in northwestern Oregon. This cascading waterfall is over 100 feet tall and features a moderate hiking trail and an elevation gain of over 1,000 feet. The Ramona Falls trailhead also gives hikers access to the Sandy River and Pacific Crest trails. Late summer or early fall is the best time of year to visit because you have to cross the river at a certain point to reach the falls. Hike at your own risk in the winter and spring, but do not attempt to continue the hike when the river is high.
The parking area can fit over 50 cars, but it is best to arrive in the morning to ensure you can get a parking space. Please note that there is a small fee to park here (between mid-May and early October), and wilderness permits are also required. If you're looking for the quintessential Oregon waterfall hike, look no further than Ramona Falls.
