Explore the Mount Hood area full of lush forests and this beautiful 100-foot plunging waterfall.
Located off of the Oregon Highway 35, Tamanawas Falls is on the East side of Mount Hood and follows the trail along the Cold Spring Creek. You will be taking trail number 650 for a little while, but there are several sets of junctions to follow before actually arriving at the falls. The trail to Tamanawas Falls is open yearly during the months of May through October. This is a pleasant hiking trail that is good for most hiking abilities and will provide hours of time to spend in the great outdoors. Plan on about a 2-mile hike and bring any necessary equipment and supplies such as water with you. Do not leave any trash behind while hiking. Pets are allowed on the trail provided they are always on a leash.
There are plenty of campgrounds nearby if you want to stay in the area for awhile. The busiest months of the year are typically June through August. If you prefer having fewer people around, it is best to camp during the week instead of the weekends. The Tamanawas Falls is simply picture perfect, so take as many pictures as possible when you visit.
