The South Dakota Hall of Fame is an American award for excellence with 10 South Dakotans elected each year.
The South Dakota Hall of Fame celebrates and honors 10 South Dakotans each year at the annual Honors Ceremony. Their ceremony awards people for Acts of Excellence, Legacy of Achievements, and Legends & Learning. The people of South Dakota are picked from various writers, artists, politicians, farmers, ranchers, healthcare workers, lawyers, law enforcers, and educators.
Check out the exhibits, and don't miss the health and dignity statue. The goal of the Hall of Fame is to award excellence and inspire future generations. South Dakota's State Legislature named this place the state's official hall of fame in 1996. More than 700 South Dakotans have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, and the museum has all of its stories of excellence. Visitors are welcome Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. The South Dakota Hall of Fame is conveniently located just off of Interstate 90, right next to the Missouri River.
