Saint Louis Art Museum is located just north of the St. Louis Zoo. Millions of people have visited this museum annually, and it was established in 1879. It is open 10 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Sunday, with extended hours on Fridays from 10 am - 9 pm. Free parking is available in the north parking lots on Fine Art Drive. Paid parking is available at underground parking and parking garage. The museum can be accessed on the east side of the building. The cafe restaurant is open from 10 am to 4 pm, and the dining area is available. Please note that food and drink are prohibited in all areas of the museum.
A gift shop is located inside the museum and sells various art, jewelry, books, toys, and more. Rental space is available for private and public events. The museum participates in educational programs and events. During the early years, the museum was home to fine art and design. Today, the collection has grown to a wide variety of original art forms from six continents and artwork spanning five millennia.
