The Governor's Mansion is located in the heart of Jackson, Mississippi. It has been a national historic landmark since 1975 and tells the story of Mississippi governors past and present. This mansion features Greek Revival architecture and was designed by William Nichols, a renowned 19th-century architect who immigrated from England. To this day, the Governor's Mansion is the official residence of Mississippi governors.
Guided tours of the Governor's Mansion are available (by reservation only) Tuesday through Thursday at 9:30, 10, and 10:30 am. Each tour lasts about 30 minutes and will show you the state dining room, gold parlor, and green room inside the mansion. Before the tour, guests must park in adjacent parking lots or metered street parking and gather at the side gate near Capitol Street.
