See hundreds of bird species at this wildlife refuge.
The Emiquon National Wildlife Refuge is located in Fulton County, Illinois. This refuge encompasses over 2,600 acres and is home to several native and migratory wildlife species. During your visit, you will see the beauty of the natural environment surrounding the confluence of the Illinois and Spoon Rivers. This land is also part of the traditional homeland of past and present native Illinois peoples. This is also a popular spot for people to come and draw or paint the peaceful surroundings. Due to the wetland nature of the refuge, there aren’t any formal hiking trails.
