The National Railroad Museum is a great place to learn about American railroad history. Guests will see displays, locomotives, railcars, and many other artifacts while taking a self-guided tour here. This museum was established in 1956 by local volunteers, and it is one of the oldest and largest U.S. institutions. The museum hosts a Day Out with Thomas event every year, featuring Thomas the Train. In October, there is also a "haunted" train ride called the "Terror on the Fox." Other seasonal events include the Great Pumpkin Train and Polar Express holiday rides.
